In all countries of the world, minorities complain that they are being treated unfairly or are being discriminated against. Most of the time, this complaint is proven to be true. Our students should examine the reasons for this so that a plan of action can be prepared in this regard. We know that today, when the poisonous waves of communalism seem to be entering even the educational campuses as well. Is there any ray of hope left there? Youth! I am positive in this regard. Therefore, let us analyze all the issues in the form of a small thesis:
(a) In any country’s democracy, the new name of a person is ‘vote’. Therefore, in democracy, heads (i.e. votes) are only counted. They are not weighed. In every democratic country’s 2 population of ten million, there are barely five thousand people who understand different aspects of life and take life seriously. They are also aware of their social and democratic responsibilities. At this rate, the number of such people in the population of 140 billion in this country is only 6/7 million. These are the intelligent people who, by utilizing all their abilities and resources, take man and humanity out of darkness and introduce them to the light. This class always remains in the minority, so the voice of this class also proves to be the voice of a parrot in the music room. Of course, all the revolutions in the world are brought about by the thoughts and efforts of this class. Today, when sectarianism is at its peak and temples are being searched for under our mosques, even in this era, a large non-Muslim class stands with us to support the truth.
(b) In every country of the world, it is very easy for sectarian politicians to incite the majority against the minorities. In order to win by a large majority, they have to incite the majority sect on a large scale. Unfortunately, this is the political science of democracy now.
(c) In no country in the world does the practice of politics based on principles and justice flourish on this basis, yet protests against communalism and injustice are now becoming more intense, especially through social media, and will continue to do so. In these circumstances, our students and youth should find new dimensions of brotherhood. Let us examine all the possibilities in this regard:
(1) First of all, if we examine the leadership of our nation just eight decades ago, then it is only a pity that its consequences are unknown that to strengthen Savarkar’s two-nation theory, our leadership raised the slogan ‘The world of the falcon is another, the world of the Vulture is another’. ‘My jungle is different, your jungle is different’, even the animals of the jungle do not say this. The falcon could live among eagles, vultures, and wild animals, and could live with dignity. In this regard, when we study the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, the truth comes to light that he and his companions did not demand new countries based on differences. The idea of not being able to build a new country with non- 4 Muslims in the hope of an ‘ideal state’ was wrong and is still wrong today. Therefore, even when a procession passes in front of the mosque while playing drums and playing cards, our humility should remain intact in prayer. Even if there is a deliberate incitement to stain our white pajamas during the festival of colors, we have to restrain ourselves and even if there is a loud demand to ban the call to prayer on loudspeakers, the rows of our mosques should be filled.
(2) To make the campus peaceful, we should also look into our own hearts. A few years ago, a student from Karnataka, out of fear and anxiety, called out to Allah for her protection. We all got emotional, but the muezzin of our local mosque says ‘Allahu Akbar’ thirty times every day, how much we respond to his voice. The problem of that student was not paying the fees, the miscreants were not giving her admission in the college with the hijab. Therefore, our leadership should have realized the real problem, that we should establish a college, a campus for the hijab-wearing students, and that was the permanent solution to this problem.
(3) We know that the subjects of the current rulers’ universities are: hatred, violence, arrogance and sectarianism. Therefore, their journey of school/college uniform will end with the Uniform Civil Code. However, we have to force our leadership to realize that if ‘uniform’ is implemented, then it will be inevitable for us to establish higher educational institutions of our own character and culture. Dear students! In that case, “otherwise we will stop our students from studying” has to be rejected and our leadership has to be forced to establish our own educational institutions.
(4) We would also like to tell the students that the sole purpose of student organizations on campus should be: to form students of good character! Therefore, we have to work continuously on understanding the Quran, purifying ourselves, building character and building a career. However, we have to prevent black sheep from entering our ranks who just put up posters like ‘Send someone….’ and consider it as jihad.
(5) Dear students! No matter how much any sectarian incitement is made regarding religion, 6 you should not be angry at all. The miscreants have also come to know that if the Prophet, Companions or Islamic teachings and slogans are ridiculed on social media, the leaders of this community incite their youth and then those politicians make their bread on the destruction and hardships of these youth and imprisonment. Our students have to remember that according to the Quran, the prophets were also ridiculed in every era and the Lord of the Universe himself has taken the responsibility of protecting the Quran. We would also like to inform our students about the opinion of a well-known nonMuslim thinker that in the ‘Vishva Hindu Sammelan’ held in Banaras in 1891, Swami Vivekananda had told a gathering of millions of followers of Hinduism that the religion of Islam can never end because its divine book has not changed yet and those who follow it are also following most of its teachings.
(6) Dear students! Even in the current environment, do not attack any belief of a nonMuslim, do not make fun of it, because the guidance of Allah Almighty in this regard in the 7 Book of Revelation is that they will then mock your religion in ignorance.
(7) Dear students, in order to maintain brotherhood among non-Muslim students, it is necessary to remove their misconceptions with a smile on your face. You should prepare a list of questions containing their misconceptions. There are hardly 20 to 25 questions that nonMuslims have been asking us for years, do not miss the opportunity to present their answers in a positive manner.
(8) Dear students! You should also study the common teachings of Islam and other religions and to do this, you need only one-fourth of the time required to prepare for any one subject of your engineering or medicine or you can acquire these basic common teachings in just 15 days of any summer or winter vacation.
(9) Dear students! It is still possible for us to win the hearts of others through our character and actions because they do not read our books, they only study and examine our character.
