THE COMMUNITY IS MOVING OUT OF THE DARKNESS OF IGNORANCE TOWARDS THE LIGHT OF KNOWLEDGE

Friends! Elderly people in our homes often complain about the lack of resources, but you should know that insight is more important than resources. What resources were available in the 10th century? but in that century, Ibn Sina did research in medicine that his book ‘Al-Qanun fi al-Tabb’ was included in the curriculum of medical colleges in Europe for 475 years. Our intellectuals, our researchers, our scholars and our missionaries have rendered invaluable services to religious and modern sciences. Now, on the contrary, our rulers had nothing, but they were devoid of positive spirit, deprived of foresight and incapable of vision. Friends! Think if this world was governed by a flag, Amir Timur’s Uzbekistan would have survived, Genghis Khan’s Mongolia would have had a name and sign, and the sting of the Ayyubid Empire that spread from the Middle East to Africa would still be ringing. Young people! Compared to all these rulers today, if we still remember Bu Ali Sena strongly, it was because he had the flag of knowledge in his hand. Dear students! Know some more names of the bearers of knowledge: Fatima al-Faria (founder of the first university in Morocco), Ibn al-Alishim (camera), Al-Khwarizmi (algebra), Ahmed bin Toulun (first hospital in the world), Muhammad Ibn Ali Khorasani (clock), Abu Qasim Zahrawi (Surgery), Jabir bin Hayyan (Chemistry).

In fact, for many centuries, our rulers were more powerful than the presidents of America, Britain and France, but they did not know their priorities. To understand the extent to which ignorance of preferences leads to ignorance, I would like to turn a few pages of history:

When Mughal King Jahangir's eyesight became weak, an English doctor presented him with a pair of spectacles. On which the king was very happy, and also put diamonds on the glasses, but the idea of establishing a factory for making glasses did not come to the king.
Mughal king Farrukh Sir's daughter fell ill and was treated by an English doctor. Then our kings used to have a style according to which he asked, “Ask what you want?” And thus the king allotted all the revenues of South India to the East India Company.
Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in Agra for his Begum. This king had an army of the best architects in the world. A visionary ruler would have built the 'Mumtaz Mahal University of Architecture' in Agra instead of the Taj Mahal with their help. Millions of Muslim young architects would have been trained from that university till now. Shah Jahan's Taj Mahal is the best example of architecture. However, out of the of income of billions earned through it, not a single rupee is directly given to our community. Now, some people might say that where was the ‘culture’ of university etc. in those days? For the information of such people, let me submit that Oxford University was established 532 years ago, Paris University 475 years ago and Cambridge University 415 years before the rule of Shah Jahan. In this context, listen to one more thing. Shah Jahan also had the justification to establish one or more hospitals in memory of his wife because Mumtaz Mahal had died while giving birth to a child. Therefore, Shah Jahan could have established hospitals many times larger than the AIIMS Hospital in Delhi and the King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital in Mumbai across the country and from those hospitals thousands of doctors could have been provided to the community and the nation every year.
What is the result of disgust with modern sciences, our students should note this. Before the battle of Buxar, our emperors did not consider the British and Britain, and why did they think that they were the emperors of the subcontinent of 40 lakh square kilometers and Britain was only a small island. But the East India Company, consisting of only two hundred people, shook the hearth of the Mughal Empire and even imprisoned the last emperor of India in a warehouse where the 82-year-old emperor used to write his poems on the wall with the coal of his stove.

What happened to the Muslims in the first war of independence, we get a glimpse of it from Rashid Al Khairy’s ‘Ghadr Ki Mari Princess’. This bloody story was not even written by Sir Syed’s pen, but he was the most affected by these tear- jerking stories, although he also prophesied that the sun would rise in the midst of that terrible night, and for his commitment to modern science and technology. He founded the Scientific Society. Such a positive effort, the realization of their dreams and the image of hope I would like to present to our youngsters:

Subcontinent's greatest scientist and missile man APJ Abdul Kalam was also influenced by the Aligarh movement. This great scientist, who paid his graduation fees in Aero engineering by selling his sister's jewellery, was awarded honorary doctorate degrees by more than 40 universities around the world.
Dr. Syed Zahoor Qasim, a postgraduate in Zoology from Aligarh Muslim University, went on to become the first Indian scientist to lead the country's mission to icy Antarctica from 1981 to 1988.
More than 48 research papers of Dr. Israr Ahmed, a physicist who graduated from AMU, have been published in world-class physics journals.
Dr. Obaid Siddiqui, educated from Aligarh Muslim University, has the honor of being the founding director of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, the most prestigious research institute of the country. Dr. Siddiqui is considered one of Asia's leading scientists for his advanced research in neurogenetics.
Dr. Yusuf Hamid's father, Dr. Khawaja Hamid, went to Germany and did significant research in the field of science. It is important to mention here that one of his students (student of Jamia Millia) Professor Akhlaqur Rahman Qadwai has the honor of being the first Muslim president of UPSC.
Dr. Yusuf Khawaja Hameed carried out such high level research in pharmaceutical science that Cambridge University named its chemistry department after him.
Jamia Millia Islamia is completing 125 years of its existence, one of its professors, Imran Ali, has been named India's number one scientist in Analytical Chemistry by the leading American university, Stanford University.
Dr. Ahmed Kamal, a graduate of Aligarh Muslim University and the first Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, has a prominent place in the research of organic chemistry throughout the country. Dear students! This new era of success is to enlighten you now. We believe that each of us, each house, each family, if we raise our vision and our spirit, do not run after temporary benefits and every moment, this tune is riding on his head that if we have to make our community on the top then we can return to our old bright and shining era.
